Hi! I’m Tegan Sonley, a first year photography student at Durham College. I have a preference for studio photography and portraiture.
I’ve participated in the 48 hour film challenge at the college as well as had my photos published on the front page of Northumberland Today, a small town newspaper.
In my short 19 years of life, I’ve had the pleasure of working with professionals in the field of journalism, whether writing for a newspaper or actually working with professors in a classroom environment during my time in the journalism program also at Durham College. But my passion has always been creative photography. So I grabbed my camera, switched programs and I’ve never been happier.
I have a love for traveling and taking pictures of places I have been and sights that I don’t get to see at home in Canada. I’ve visited Scotland and California so far and had the pleasure of photographing the sights there. I aspire to travel to many places whether by vacationing or through job opportunities.
Along my journeys and during the teachings from my professors, I’ve discovered that photography is much more than just point and shoot.
